Activities for teachers
For teachers we design learning landscapes or help them
in designing their own.
A learning landscape is a powerful learning environment which inspires
and motivates the students.
The learning process within a learning landscape is like a journey,
an adventure.
Students make literally a journey (a cycle tour, walking tour, tour
by boat, etc.), make a book, plan a visit, set up a small business,
do research, invite guests, prepare a theatre performance, make a film
or a cd, etc.
Although there is a rough plan of the ‘route’, many decisions
have to be taken by the students: what do we first, what is the second
step, etc.
Students have the feeling to do it themselves. They are very active
in their own learning process.
In a learning landscape there is always a clear structure, an attractive
equipment and possibilities to meet interesting people.
Activities for policy makers and administrators
We support the policy makers and the administrators of the schools
in order to create a dynamical educational climate in the schools and
the city.
With contacts and collaboration between the schools and businesses and
organisations. With a good philosophy for the educational policy.
Our dream is the development of enterprising behaviour and an ethical
awareness on all the levels: policy makers, school directors, teachers,
students.
Activities for school directors
We help school directors to typify the school and formulate with them
a good mission.
Therefore we interview parents, students, teachers and other people
who are involved. After that we design a ‘school profile’:
a typical characterization of the school.
Sometimes the emphasis is on sport, in other cases extra time is invested
in language, techniques, talent development of the students, or religion.
A school profile is important for school management and the long term
planning.
In all the design we emphasis the participation of the students in their
own learning process and we strengthen the will to learn and to know.
